This is my motto for the week - and I will be introducing it to the girls tonight at Family Home Evening. I want to just spend this week being grateful for my blessings. I spend most of the other weeks of the year being keenly aware of the things I want, don't have, wish I could get or will never attain. But this week I just want to be grateful.
Johannes A. Gaertner:
To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.
Five Things That I Am Grateful For Today:
1. My husband - Eric. He is not perfect but he is the perfect person for me. He "gets" me and loves me anyway. He works SO hard for our family and he is a great father and a sweet, considerate husband. I made the right choice when I married him.
2. My daughters - Erika, Hailey and Kelcie. They are beautiful, smart, and funny. They teach me every day to be a better person. And did I mention that they are funny?! We have so much fun together!
3. My home. I am a homebody. I love being at home. I love making it a place that my family loves to come back to at the end of the day. I love how it feels when we're all here together. Home is my favorite place to be.
4. My comfy bed! I already did an ode to my bed a few months ago so I won't go into details again about how much I love it but I really am grateful for it and I have to mention it here!
5. My crockpot. There is nothing too small or insignificant to be grateful for and since I really do love my crockpot, I feel that it is ok to mention here! It's red and stainless steel, so it's cute. It's big, which is handy. It's oval so it fits frozen pieces of meat that won't bend. It cooks dinner for me - enough said!
Tune in tomorrow for another edition of "An Attitude of Gratitude."
