Happy Anniversary!

So today is our 15th wedding anniversary. I was going to post some really cute pictures but my scanner appears to have died - I'm so bummed...naturally all my wedding pictures are pre-digital-camera and have to be scanned in - maybe Eric can figure out what's wrong with it when he gets home and I can try later.

Anyway, that aside, I have to say that part of me can't believe it's been 15 years and part of me can't imagine a life without Eric and the girls. I've been very blessed to be married to a man who is kind, generous, patient and loving. He's a fantastic father - it's something that he takes very seriously and I knew when I married him that he would be great! I always tell my girls that when they are choosing someone to marry that they HAVE to remember that not only are they choosing someone for themselves, but they are choosing the father of their children. That's no small thing.

We've have had a lot of ups and downs over the years - sometimes it feels like more "downs" but I appreciate the committment we made on a beautiful summer afternoon in Seattle, Washington because it's the committment to our covenants and to each other that has brought us this far. Just a quick walk down memory lane - I woke my whole family up early in the morning on the day of my wedding because I just couldn't sleep from being so excited! We didn't have to be to the temple until 11:00am but I was ready to get going! Then when we got there, I was hungry so we took a quick trip to the cafeteria for mashed potatoes and gravy to tide me over. Then the beautiful ceremony, the dress, the pictures (Eric was wear black shoes with his white suit - we kept covering it up with my dress) and then the realization that we were MARRIED!! Silly girl - I had no idea what that would really mean but after 15 years I'm getting the idea!

So here's to my husband - I love you and look forward to all eternity to come!
