And Now She's Back...?

So I got a call on my cell phone this afternoon at about 5:00pm from Erika, calling to tell me that they were back! Apparently the wind, rain, hail, thunder, lightning and cool temps were too much for our delicate desert roses so they came home for the evening to wait out the weather. Some of the tents were flooding so the stake decided to send the girls home for the night and everyone will head back up in the morning. So Erika ran home for a quick shower and dropped off her laundry (to be fresh and clean and dropped off by morning) and headed back over to her Camp Director's house to spend the night. She still had a cheerful attitude so hopefully they'll be able to get back up there tomorrow and the weather will start cooperating. I don't recall ever going home from camp because of the weather but at the same time, I'm glad they're being cautious (if not overprotective!) of the girls. We'll keep you posted on the latest!

i guess it is good they are being careful, but i don't remember coming home midweek either. I bet some of the leaders were happy :-)

I remember heading home due to rain my first year of Girl's Camp - but, uh, I'm thinking Washington = Rain...Nevada = Not Rain???

I hope she has a good week whatever they end up doing. Maddie absolutely LOVED her first year of camp (with no rain).

Our girls came home one day early, and the ironic part....the camp theme was "Endure to the End"! How is that Alanis Morrisette?

I might have been nice to take a shower though, I as a leader would not be opposed to the idea.
