Just a quick update to say that all reports indicate that the repair to our transmission began today and with any luck, we might have our van back by late Wednesday. We've been getting around in Eric's little Accent - don't get me wrong, I'm so glad we have his car but I think we look a little like clowns at the circus when we get out....Thankfully, the repair to his car will be minimal and paid for by the other person's insurance. Eric's whiplash may take a little longer to get over but he seems better today than yesterday.
In other news, we are on the home stretch toward the beginning of school. We went through all the school supplies today and divided everything up and labeled backpacks and lunch bags - the girls enjoy getting organized! Erika has a 7th grade BBQ tomorrow and will get her class schedule then. The family that we carpooled with for middle school just moved so I'm also trying to work out a new carpool with some people from the other ward. I love me a good carpool! Hailey and Kelcie have a meet-and-greet teacher thing on Friday so they're looking forward to that. I'm hoping to get a little more swimming time in for them but our week is filling up fast so I don't know how much we'll be able to do.
So here's a fun idea for FHE! My friend Sandra from my primary presidency called last night and invited us over tonight and told us to bring a plate of cookies, a broom, trash bag, paper towels and some windex. Ok..... So we get over there tonight and there were a total of 5 families and she gave each family a service list and a pass along card - our task was to perform each act of service for a different person and hand out the pass along card and which ever family got done first was the winner. This was the list of service:
sweep someone's porch
wash two windows (car or house)
pick 10 weeds
pick up 20 pieces of garbage
give someone a plate of cookies
hand out a pass along card
Well, we hurried out the door and were the first ones back! (Altho - I do have to say, that we were the only family without small children so we were able to move a lot faster... ) It was fun to decide who we were going to choose for our service and then to all work together - it was such a great idea! Then when we got back,we spread blankets out on the lawn and ate ice cream and talked and the kids played - good times! Thanks Sandra!

That is a great idea. And I would have to say that the bus, in my opinion, is the absolute best. You gain an extra hour in the day, FANTASTIC!
