OK, keep in mind that we are not normally a football-watching family (much to Eric's great sadness) but once a year we tune in to the SuperBowl and make all sorts of yummy things to eat and make an afternoon of it! Half of us are rooting for the Patriots and half of us are rooting for the Giants. On a funny side note, Erika came home from school the other day and asked me if I knew that New England was another name for the northeastern states?! Apparently, her English teacher enlightened about half her class with that fact - all along Erika thought one of the SuperBowl teams was from the UK! You know how much England loves American football.... :o)
In other news, I finally have a fairly healthy family again. We have spent the past two weeks with somebody down with that nasty cold-cough-fever-thing. Fortunately, I seem to be immune to it. Unfortunately, that means that I have to nurse everyone else through it! I am so happy that they're all pretty much done hacking and coughing - it was turning into quite a symphony of aggrevation!
So February at our house is usually all about Erika since her birthday is on the 13th. This year is extra special because she will be turning 12 (yikes!) and going into Young Women's. She only has a week and a half left to finish up her Faith in God tasks - fortunately there's not much left to do but I have a feeling there will be a crash course in memorizing the articles of faith! She is loving her first year at middle school - she has great friends and is doing well in her classes! She has been playing the clarinet, then decided to switch to the saxaphone, then decided to switch back to the clarinet. Let's just say that we're on a first name basis over at the music store where we rent her instruments... she's hoping to make Symphonic band next year and decided to switch back to clarinet since she's more confident of her abilities with that instrument. Fair enough!
Hailey is busy and happy. She is not taking any classes or playing any sports right now. She is quite content to do her homework, ride her bike, play with friends and lose herself in a good book. She's so easy going - it's so refreshing to have her around. She's my low-maintainance girl!
Kelcie is a hot-house of conflicting emotion! You never know from one moment to the next what she'll be needing, or doing, or saying but brace yourself because it will be SOMETHING that will require your utmost attention! We love our Kelcie though!
Well, enough blogging for today. I will post as often as there are interesting things to share so make sure you check back!
