Given the fact that my sister Rachel is much more savvy than I am when it comes to politics, I have copied her sentiments on last's night election here - she just says it better than I do. Oh, and she had this picture too - couldn't leave it out!
Of course it is obvious that the image is superimposed, but ugh! I believe strongly in limited government. If you could show me one thing that government doesn't mess up when it gets too involved then I'd be more likely to understand Obama's positions, but the socialist direction that he represents is very disturbing to me. I've thought a lot about this ever since Obama's comment to Joe the Plumber "it's better for everyone when we spread the wealth around". Which is essentially a united order philosophy, except that it only works when you have a society of hard working, pure in heart people. In our society there is so much greed and corruption, that in the end the powerful get richer in a socialistic society while everyone else gets less. Socialism and communism fail because government thinks itself greater than invidual free will. And individual free will is what our founding fathers recognized as our inalienable right, which is God given. I could go on, but I will get off my soap box now.
Ok, me again. With all of those things being said, I will continue to hope for the best and pray that Obama surrounds himself with people that will help him make decisions that are in the best interest of our country.
