Congratulations Erika!

Erika made it into Symphonic Band!!!



After practicing and practicing, trying out the first time and not making it, practicing and practicing some more, she tried out one last time today and made it!! She was in Beginning Band this year and then next year she would automatically move into Concert Band but her teachers gave the kids the option to try out for Symphonic which would allow them to skip the year of Concert. The girl has perseverence - I'll give her that! She really wanted this and I'm so proud of how hard she worked for it. Neither Eric or I play an instrument but this year Erika started clarinet and Hailey started piano and now our house always has somebody practicing on something - I love that!



Here's a shot of Erika at her concert a couple weeks ago. Lied has a really great music program and I'm amazed that they can take a group of kids who've never touched an instrument and turn them into musicians! Very cool!
