Well, it had to happen...the Alaskans headed back North today and left some very sad Chapin girls behind them.
A sad Hailey...
And a sad Kelcie...
They live so far away that we probably won't see them for another year but we made some good memories to last us until then.
Number One Memory - Swimming!!
Kelcie is the ultimate fish!! Despite developing an all-over body rash from the chlorine, this girl LOVES the pool and is always the last one out!
Hailey likes to pretend that she's a mermaid.
Hailey and Dad enjoy some pool time together!
I had to include an awesome action shot!
Erika enjoyed the pool too - altho this is her first year wearing make-up so I had to give her some tips on avoiding "racoon-eyes."
Number Two Memory - Ice Cream Eating Contest!!
(I think the Alaskans immunity to cold gave them the edge in this event...)
The kids took this competition seriously - do you see Sydney working through the obvious brain freeze?!
Sydney's efforts paid off - she won! Aunt Rachel documented the event for future posterity!
Porter hangs in there for a close second place win! (Those Alaskans must have sludge running through their veins - the desert natives didn't stand a chance!)
Number Three Memory - A Visit to the Springs Preserve
OK, I'm not sure why this is the only decent picture I have of this excursion since there were a ton of us and we were there for at least two hours...sometimes I just forget to take pictures! But I do recommend the Springs Reserve for all you Las Vegans - it's a little spendy but if you buy an annual pass it will pay for itself by your second visit.
Other Memories:
I'm sure that the kids had tons of other good times that I didn't get pictures of - those are the ones you keep in your heart. Here's a couple extra fun shots:
Porter and Hailey - they're always best buddies when we get together!
Now that's a carload of beautiful girlies!!
So that is our week in photos. I will post some shots of the professional family pictures we had taken once I get my computer to recognize the CD that they're on!

You know it was a good visit when you actually DON'T want the relatives to leave. I think that gets more rare now-days. The pictures are great, and hopefully your girls will survive until next summer.... Their sad faces are just heartbreaking!
