I was blog surfing and was reading on Michelle Krainich's blog today - some of you know her. About a year and a half ago her sweet little boy James had a tragic fall and went back to his Heavenly Father. I've met Michelle in passing a couple of times but do not know her personally. In an effort to work through her grief, she started a public blog that allows her to share her thoughts and feelings about this life-changing event. I follow her blog pretty faithfully because I think about her a lot and want to know how she's doing - she has remarkable faith and her blog inspires me.
Anyway...I was reading a quote that she posted on there today. It was just what I needed! Here it is in case maybe some of you need it too!
Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is rough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise, life is like an old time rail journey,. . . delays, side tracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occassionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.
