Yay for Erika!

Two great things happened for Erika this week - well, probably more than that but we'll focus on these two! Yesterday she tried out for concert band for next year and made it! She's excited about it and is looking forward to learning how to do "more stuff" on her clarinet next year! She's a good little clarinet player and is enjoying it a lot.

Secondly - and let me preface this with a little background info - this week her school has been doing state mandated testing and the school gives away a lot of prizes as incentives for the kids to make sure they show up and try to do well on their tests - so right before school let out today, they announced a bunch of prize winners on the loud speaker and Erika won a $100.00 gift card that is good at several malls in the area! She's so excited - she hardly knows what to spend it on. We just went on a little shopping spree last weekend with her birthday money so I'm not sure what's left on her list of "wants" but I'm sure she'll come up with something!

Side note - the battery is dead on my camera and I can't seem to remember to buy a new one so I am picture-less until I finally remember!
