It has been a busy, busy week for us. Last Sunday night we enjoyed the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional with a special treat - our Stake put together a Children's Choir and they performed a half hour before the broadcast. Hailey and Kelcie and cousin Sierra participated and it was absolutley beautiful. We have some amazing music people in our stake (they have performed on Broadway) so they were able to really pull the best of the best out of those kids. They had been practicing since September and it really paid off. There were three harps, the kids sang in harmony, there was a video presentation along with the singing - it was just beautiful and the girls were great too!
Monday night we went and celebrated cousin Michael's fourth birthday. He is a fun little boy and so sweet - we got him a book with 1000 dinosaur stickers and he and his brother have been "stickering" all week!
Tuesday night was Baptisms for the dead at the Temple for Eric and Erika. It's fun that they get to go do this together - and it was nice that the little girls and I had a night to stay home!
Wednesday night was spent at cousin Sierra's politically-correct "Holiday" concert at her school. All cultures and religions were properly represented and the kids did a great job. We went to Melissa's afterwards for hot chocolate and brownies and a special viewing of cousin Baby McKenna in her Christmas PJ's - so cute!
Thursday night was a night off - Eric was teaching class so the girls and I stayed home and did our homework and went to bed early!
Friday night - Ward Christmas Party. We had a great time at the Country Chrismas-themed party and I helped dress many angels and sheep for the primary's production of the nativity. It was sweet and hilarious, as most primary productions of anything usually are!
Saturday - Erika had a "science activity" down at the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus. The science teachers at her school orchestrated the event under the guise of studying the effects of inertia - but really, the kids just went and rode the rides and had a great time! Hailey had a special shopping date with Uncle Todd and cousin Sierra and a rollerskating party (she's pretty sure she broke her bum in one of her falls!). Kelcie got to go with Eric to his morning class and play on the computer while he taught class and then she and Eric went rollerskating too. I went to a beautiful sealing at the Temple for a family in our ward - it's so beautiful to see a family sealed together forever! Then we finally ALL made it back home for pizza and a movie - a perfect ending to a very busy day!
Sunday - I taught Relief Society, Eric had choir, Erika had BYC and now we are finally home to catch our breath before another crazy week starts!! Bring it on...
