What Have We Been Up To?

School has been out for a few weeks so here is a quick review in pictures of what we have been up to! Three days after school got out the cousins from Alaska made their annual visit to Las Vegas. This is sheer joy for all children involved! My brother's kids are close in age to my kids and despite our lack of physical proximity, we have been fortunate to get together often over the years and these cousins have great relationships with each other. I love it because it's not something I had growing up and I'm so glad that my kids know their cousins and love them so much!!
Everyone had recently seen Night at the Museum 2 so we heard A LOT of "Fire Power" during the week that they were here. This picture documents only one of the 800 times they quoted it for us (cute the first c0uple of times - not so much the last 798....)

A silly picture because they are very silly cousins!
The famous Alaskas!! Porter, Paige, Sydney and Savanna - we love them dearly and miss them all the time!!
We also celebrated Eric's birthday on June 5th. There was great planning involved and we had a great time making sure that Eric was well-birthdayed this year. I whisked him away for a quick hotel overnighter after his birthday dinner and he turned 39 with ease and comfort!

Ok, one last cousin shot! Me, my mom, two of my sisters and my sister-in-law took the two oldest girlies down to Serendipty on the strip (by Caesars Palace) for ridiculous amounts of ice cream! What you see here (besides Erika and Sydney) is a deep fried Oreo sundae. You may think that sounds wrong - and it is - but it's sooooo gooooood!! I don't think my arteries will ever be the same!
As you can see we have also been doing a lot of swimming. I fail to take pictures while we're out but my laundry offers a firm testimony to the fact that we are at the pool every day. Erika has been doing Jr. Lifeguarding Training for the past two weeks and Hailey and Kelcie have swim team practice every day and I have also been taking them early so they can play before they practice. Their first meet is this weekend but they will be missing it because of our Disneyland trip - they're ok with that! But we'll post pictures when they have another meet next month.

Kelcie also finished her soccer season with a fun party at one of her coaches houses. Soccer will never be Kelcie's passion the way it is for Erika but she had a good time. Most of the kids she played with are in our ward and so were her coaches so she had a great time playing with her friends. She always had "butterflies" in her tummy before a game but they flew away once she started playing!

Isn't that a great team cake??!!

Last night cousin Sierra spent the night and the girls made Ice-Cream -In-A-Bag. Except for really cold hands, they had a great time flipping it all over the place!
The finished product - so very good!!
As always, one last silly shot!
So that's what we've been up to! We leave on Friday for our Disneyland trip so stay tuned for more fun pictures!
