More Moab...

There is something really great about taking a road trip with just one of your off-spring. The older Erika gets, the more fun we have together! She has a hilarious sense of humor and we have so many inside jokes and things that crack us up. Going to Moab was another opportunity to make more memories and have a great time together. I can't wait to do it with Hailey and Kelcie too...

Erika found Arches to be a great place to get in touch with her inner Zen!

Many, many beautiful things to look at in Arches National Park!

Half-Marathon in Moab

Erika and I took off to Moab, Utah for a long weekend to go support my sisters who were running in their first half-marathon. We had a great time road-tripping together and watching my sisters torture themselves by running down a canyon!

Melissa and Jennifer! Kudos to my sisters for challenging themselves and finishing their half-marathon! Melissa (left) swears she'll never do it again (her old knee injury didn't appreciate 13.2 miles!) while Jennifer (right) is doing her next half-M. in August! It's something I think I'd like to try eventually - I'm working my way up to it!

Before we left town, Erika and I did a drive and hike through Arches National Park with Jen and her family. If you've never been there before, put it on your list of things that you MUST do in your lifetime! It's so beautiful! Plus we had a great time with Jen & her family!

I Forgot Savanna!!

As I was looking through the cousins collage in my previous post I realized that I forgot Savanna!! The crazy blond girl with the hook finger! How could I possibly forget her? She cracked everyone up the whole weekend with her psycho face and hooked finger! I HAD to redo the collage and repost it for everyone's viewing enjoyment!

The 5K...

March began with our first 5K run. Eric has been meeting with a team on Saturday mornings that trains for runs and they decided let me join them for the race. It was FREEZING cold that morning because of the wind altho it wasn't so bad once we finally started running.

For the record, I came in first. Altho maybe I should clarify...by first, I mean that I came in before my brother Todd, who was also running that day, and before Eric. That's all that really mattered - that, and the fact that I wasn't dead last, which would have been embarassing! I showed up somewhere in the middle - just where I like to be!

Considering Todd hadn't exercised a single day before the race (or a single day since!) he managed to pull off a good showing!
Eric made a respectable showing as well! The girls waited for us at the finish line and were fantastic cheerleaders!

Eric and I with some other members from his racing team. We had a great time and look forward to continuing to do races in the future! Erika and I will be doing a 10k in November out at Valley of Fire - we can't wait!

Family Reunion

In February we also had a short Boston Family Reunion here in Las Vegas. "The Alaska's" as we call John & Brenda's family, melt in our summer heat so we usually see them in February or March so they can thaw out from their Arctic winter instead. We had the chance to have family pictures done so here's some shots from the shoot out at Red Rock.

Playing "Ketch-Up"

It has been a loooooong time since I've blogged so bear with me while I work on getting caught up! Let's start with February and work our way forward!!

Saying Goodbye

I know this happened clear back in February but I think I'm just now finally able to discuss the fact that our dear friends, The Larsen's, moved to Houston. This was painful for the whole family - Kayla, their oldest, is Kelcie's best friend, Erika was their babysitter -extraordinaire, Cristi had become one of the best friends I'd ever had...so their move was hard for all of us!! We still miss them terribly but have adjusted to texting and phone calls! Cristi, this blog is for you! ;)
